Kristen Anne Bell is an American actress and performer born in the year 1980. She was born and raised in Huntington Woods Michigan as the daughter of Lorelei Frygier - a nurse and Tom Bell - a television director - she is an American actress and singer. Her mother is Polish as is her father, who is German, English Irish and Scottish. Kristen developed a talent in the performing arts from an early age on stage. She attended her audition in 1992, and was then offered a role on Raggedy Ann, and Andy. Bell 13, who was 13 when her mother signed up for an agent, was also auditioned for ads on newspapers and TV. She also started taking private acting classes at this time. Bell had a small uncredited part in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was a student at Shrine Catholic High School and was a member of the music club and drama clubs. The Wizard of Oz production at her highschool won Bell the role of the lead Dorothy part. Bell went to the Tisch School of the Arts which she attended to study Musical Theater within New York City. Bell completed her studies in 2001, left her college studies in order to take on in the role of Becky in Tom Sawyer. In 2001, it was also that Bell made her first appearance in a credited film, Pootie Tang (2002). The scene she appeared in has been cut out and the credits are all that show her. Bell appeared part of the Broadway revival of The Crucible starring Liam Neeson and Angela Bettis.
